Sa'ada - Saba:
The Public Prosecution in Sa'ada Governorate approved the release of 154 prisoners, the transfer of 129 other prisoners to central prisons in their governorates to serve their sentences, and the deportation of 31 foreign prisoners convicted to their countries.
The head of the Saada Governorate Appeal Prosecution, Judge Ibrahim Jahez, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that these decisions were made during a field visit to the central and reserve correctional facilities in the governorate, which lasted ten days to follow up on cases and inspect the conditions of prisoners eligible for release on the occasion of the advent of Ramadan and to raise the insolvent to address their conditions.
He pointed out that the field visit, in which the head of the Court of Appeal in the governorate, Judge Suleiman Al-Shamiri, the director of the branch of the Grievances Lifting Authority, Abdullah Al-Ghalbi, and the public funds, investigation and prisons, Sa'ada and Sahar prosecutors participated, included reviewing data with the prosecution and prisons, and interviewing prisoners.
He pointed out that the release directives, which included 104 prisoners from the pretrial detention center and 50 prisoners from the central correctional facility, also included directing the public prosecutors to continue to go down and follow up on the cases and quickly act and report on them, especially those with prisoners on their account, to grant everyone who deserves release who has served three-quarters of the sentence and has no special rights to others, and with guarantees in cases under investigation that do not pose a danger to society.
