The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expected cold weather in a number of governorates, and active to strong winds around the western coast and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that cold weather is expected during the night and early morning in the governorates of Dhamar, Al-Bayda, Sana'a, Amran and Saada, with minimum temperatures ranging between 4-8 degrees Celsius.
The weather is likely to be relatively cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale'e, Lahj and Abyan and parts of the deserts and highlands of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Marib and Al-Jawf, with minimum temperatures ranging between 10-15 degrees Celsius.
The center indicated the possibility of active to strong winds with speeds ranging between 15-25 knots around the western coast and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
He explained that the lowest temperatures recorded in some weather stations this morning were as follows: Dhamar: 4.8, Al Bayda: 6.1, Amran: 8, Sana'a: 8.2, Sayoun: 10.2, Taiz: 10.2, Ibb: 10.6 degrees Celsius.
The center warned citizens in the highlands and interior plateaus of the cold weather and fluctuations in temperatures.
It also warned seagoers and fishermen on the west coast and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab of rough seas and high waves.
