The Women's Development Department in Hodeida province on Saturday organized a workshop for women leaders in executive offices and civil society organizations, focusing on raising community awareness and preparing for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The workshop's opening was marked by remarks from Mohammed Halisi, Undersecretary of the Governorate for Services Affairs, who emphasized the crucial role women play in spreading awareness and improving the living conditions of disadvantaged families. He highlighted women's contributions to charitable Ramadan initiatives and efforts to enhance social responsibility.
Maryam al-Attas, Director of the Women's Development Department, praised the leadership of women in driving positive change and underscored the workshop's goal of fostering cooperation and knowledge-sharing among women leaders from various sectors.
The workshop aimed to motivate women to actively participate in faith-based activities during Ramadan and enhance their responsibilities within families and communities.
Discussions included working papers from women’s representatives in health, environment, and other sectors, focusing on strategies to improve the economic conditions of impoverished families and foster social ties.
The papers also called for expanding Ramadan councils and promoting women's awareness to safeguard against harmful influences, ultimately strengthening social cohesion during the holy month.
