Occupied Al-Quds – Saba:
The Israeli occupation authorities announced on Saturday evening the postponement of the release of the seventh batch of Palestinian prisoners within the "Flood of Free" deal until security consultations were held under the chairmanship of Benjamin Netanyahu, without specifying a new date for release.
The Palestinian prisoners were to be released as soon as the Israeli prisoners arrived by the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the occupation, but the occupation is trying to "manipulate the names of the released prisoners," according to Hamas officials.
The seventh batch includes 620 Palestinian prisoners, including 151 high-sentence prisoners and 445 detainees from the Gaza Strip who were detained after 7 October 2023, in addition to 24 children and women.
In addition, 97 prisoners will be deported to Egypt in the first phase. In contrast, the Qassam Brigades released six Israeli prisoners on Saturday, while the bodies of four others will be handed over next week, ending the first phase of the deal.
This comes as part of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on January 19, and provides for the release of 33 Israeli prisoners (including 8 bodies) compared to 1,900 Palestinian prisoners.
