Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Tehran this week.

On Saturday, he said that the visit comes within the framework of ongoing consultations between Iran and Russia, which focus on bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
During his visit, Lavrov is expected to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi and meet with senior Iranian officials to discuss key issues affecting both countries.
For his part, Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Moscow, said that Lavrov will meet with Araqchi next Tuesday as part of his agenda in Tehran.
The last visit of the Russian Foreign Minister to Tehran was on October 23, 2023, where he participated in the coordination meeting of the cooperation formula (3+3) held to discuss the situation in the South Caucasus region.
