Gaza - Saba:
The UN rapporteur on poverty said rebuilding the Gaza Strip needs at least $53 billion, stressing his rejection of displacing the people of the Strip.
The UN rapporteur explained in televised statements that the Zionist occupation army committed war crimes against the people of the Gaza Strip, and used starvation as a weapon against them to make their lives impossible.
He pointed out that the humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip is absolutely insufficient to meet the needs of the people of the Strip.
In the context of his talk about US President Donald Trump's plans to displace the people of the Gaza Strip, he said: "Trump's proposal violates international law and conflicts with the Palestinians' right to self-determination."
"It is unacceptable to force the people of Gaza to displace from their land to neighboring countries. Forced displacement is a crime against humanity and violates international law," he added.
An assessment issued by the United Nations, the European Union and the World Bank last Tuesday stated that the needs for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip after 15 months of the aggression launched by the Zionist entity on the Gaza Strip will exceed $53 billion.
The rapid and initial assessment of the damage and the necessary needs indicated the need for $53.2 billion for recovery and reconstruction over the next ten years, including $20 billion in the first three years.
