A meeting between the Health and Environment Ministers , Dr. Ali Shiban, and Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajjala, discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two ministries to support projects for the care and shelter of homeless people and beggars.
The meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud and Assistant Undersecretary for the Welfare Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs Yasser Sharafuddin, discussed measures to complete the preparation of Al-Ihsan Center for sheltering "unaccompanied" homeless people in Capital Secretariat.
The meeting discussed the possibility of absorbing the Dutch Foreign Ministry's assistance, estimated at 1.7 million euros, in providing medical supplies, medicines, training and rehabilitation in the aspects of psychological care, for which the Ministry of Health and Environment and the Foundation for Development and Family Counseling signed an agreement to implement the psychosocial response project for Yemenis affected by the war, in addition to strengthening cooperation between the Disability Care Fund and the Limb Center for Physiotherapy.
The meeting, which was attended by the Executive Director of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Dr. Ali Moghli, discussed the practical steps and studies proposed in the preparation and opening of Al-Ihsan Hospital for the Disabled in Capital Secretariat, as well as strengthening cooperation between the Fund for the Care of the Disabled and the Limb Center for Physiotherapy.
For his part, Minister Bajaleh praised the Ministry of Health's interest in supporting the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor's efforts to care for people with special needs in health and medical aspects, noting its essential role in providing medical cadres and equipment for the two hospitals for the homeless and the disabled, which will be opened in the coming period.
