The Health and Environment Office in Al-Dhale' province, in cooperation with the National Center for Health and Population Education and Information, organized on Monday a course in the field of community response and participation in strengthening the capabilities of preventing the most widespread diseases.
The course, which was held with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) with the participation of 25 opinion leaders in Damt district, aimed to activate community participation in promoting awareness and behavior change in affected communities and raising awareness of preventive methods against diseases, the most important of which are acute watery diarrhea, measles, malaria, diphtheria, dengue and others.
In the course, the director of the province's information office, Ismail Al-Hatwar, pointed out the importance of the course to expand awareness among the community about the dangers of epidemics and ways to prevent them. He stressed the need to intensify comprehensive awareness programs to confront diseases and find spaces in the media, mosque pulpits and meetings aimed at protecting the family and society.
For his part, Naji Qarhash, Director of Health Education and Information, stressed the importance of communicating about risks, addressing wrong behaviors, sectoral and community coordination. He pointed to the role of preachers, the media and the local authority in promoting community behaviors to prevent epidemics , diseases and limit their spread.
