Amran governor Dr. Faisal Juma'an on Tuesday inspected the construction progress of main and secondary streets in neighborhood units 226-227 in Bait Badi area of Jabal Yazid district.
Accompanied by deputy governor Hassan al-Ashqas, governor Juma'an received a briefing from Engineer Sultan al-Qarahi of the Public Works Sector on the project's progress, which has reached 40% completion. Neighborhood unit 226 covers over 49 hectares, while unit 227 covers over 56 hectares.
Al-Qarahi explained that the project targets expansion areas and aims to curb urban sprawl into agricultural lands.
During the visit, Governor Juma'an stated that the construction of new neighborhood units in Bait Badi and Shabil areas west of Amran city is part of efforts to prevent slums and improve urban development in the province.
He emphasized that these plans will help prevent construction in agricultural areas, including Qaa al-Bun, alleviate urban congestion in Amran city and surrounding areas, and prevent uncontrolled construction.
The Governor praised the efforts of the Public Works and Lands Offices and the Executive Unit in implementing the project.
