Gaza - Saba:
The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" considered that the torture and abuse to which the martyred prisoner Raafat Adnan Abdul Aziz Abu Fanouna (34 years) was subjected until his martyrdom despite his injury proves the extent of the occupation brutality.

Hamas condemned the escalating crimes of the occupation against Palestinian prisoners, the latest of which was the martyrdom of prisoner Raafat Adnan Abdul Aziz Abu Fanouna from Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, inside the Israeli occupation prisons.

The movement emphasized in a statement today, Wednesday, that the death of Abu Fanouna, who has been detained since October 7, and the torture and abuse he was subjected to during his arrest, despite his injury and difficult health condition, proves the brutality of the occupation in its treatment of prisoners, depriving them of the most basic human rights, while continuing the policy of medical neglect, which means slow killing of prisoners inside prisons.

It pointed out that this crime, which raises the number of martyrs among the ranks of prisoners in the occupation prisons since the start of the genocidal war to (60) martyrs, is a dangerous and unprecedented number, which indicates that the occupation continues its abuse and attacks against prisoners, not caring about all demands and human rights appeals to provide them with humane treatment as stipulated in international conventions and norms.

The movement warned against the continuation of this criminal policy pursued by the occupation against prisoners, as the presence of thousands of them in harsh conditions under torture, starvation and medical neglect, exposes them at any moment to be a new victim.
