Beirut - Saba:
The "Committee 302 for Defending Refugee Rights", based in Lebanon, denounced the statements of the media advisor to UNRWA, Adnan Abu Hasna, regarding the international agency's readiness to hand over its services to the "State of Palestine" as demanded by the "International Coalition for a Two-State Solution".

The commission said in a statement on Sunday, that "the establishment of a Palestinian state is an unattainable demand... and therefore the call to hand over the agency's services to a Palestinian state is an empty call".

The statement recalled that UNRWA was established after the Palestinian Nakba, and was the result of the expulsion of Palestinians from their villages and cities inside occupied Palestine in 1948, "and referring UNRWA services to refugees within the borders of the Palestinian state, which is currently referred to as Gaza and the West Bank, means depriving refugees of their political right to return to the villages from which they were displaced at the expense of their humanitarian needs, and this is unacceptable" according to the statement.
