The Palestinian National Council confirmed that closing the Gaza Strip crossings and preventing the entry of humanitarian, food and medical aid is a "war crime" and a "crime against humanity" that aims to deepen human suffering, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
The National Council explained in a statement issued today, Sunday, and reported by the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa", that this siege comes as part of the forced displacement plan pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities, and the support of the US administration, and the continuation of the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing that has claimed tens of thousands of victims against the Palestinian people, in flagrant violation of international law.
He stressed that international powers bear direct responsibility for this unjust siege, considering what is happening a continuation of the policy of collective punishment, which violates Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and exacerbates a humanitarian crisis classified as a humanitarian disaster by the United Nations United.
He called for immediate international action to lift the siege and ensure the protection of the Palestinian people from these crimes, in implementation of relevant international covenants and UN resolutions.
