Tehran – Saba:
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei rejected on Wednesday the allegations raised by the British authorities regarding Iran’s attempt to threaten the country’s national security, stressing that they are baseless, calling for an end to the unconstructive approach towards Iran and the West Asia region.
Mehr News Agency reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed Iran’s commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law, especially respect for mutual sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries, in addition to compliance with international laws and regulations.
He also considered that the British allegations regarding Iran’s threat to Britain’s internal security are not only baseless, but also a kind of deliberate projection by a party with a long history and record of harmful interference against the Iranian people.
He added that Britain, despite its negative past, still provides support and shelter to anti-Iranian terrorist elements and groups.
Baghaei advised British officials to abandon their hostile policies and unsubstantiated accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling on them to stop their wrong policies against the Iranian people and stop supporting and encouraging terrorism.
