Sana'a - Saba:
Intesaf Organization for Women and Children's Rights said, "While the world celebrates with false slogans on the so-called International Women's Day; Yemeni women live under the burden of killing, displacement and migration, and all their rights claimed by international laws, charters and treaties are violated and deprived of them."
It explained in a statement on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the number of victims of the US-Saudi aggression on women in Yemen has reached more than five thousand and 566 dead and wounded, including two thousand and 495 dead women.
The statement indicated that the number of victims due to indirect targeting exceeded thousands of women, such as cases of physical and psychological disabilities, and the exacerbation of the effects of the aggression and siege for ten years, and the subsequent economic crisis that brought millions to the brink of famine.
It added, "Women suffer the most as a result of the interruption of some services such as electricity, water and fuel, the decline or interruption of family income, displacement, the demolition of homes and other damages that made them bear the most direct effects of the aggression, as there are 11.9 million Yemeni women and girls in need of maternity and protection services."
The statement pointed to the absence of the role of the United Nations and its organizations during the period of aggression, which continues to this day, continuing, "Rather, the matter developed to the point that it abandoned its responsibilities and withdrew support from most vital sectors, including the health sector, and ignored all violations against civilians, especially women, although it is the one claiming rights and freedoms through the covenants, charters and campaigns that promote them." He stated that there are more than 6.2 million Yemeni women and girls at risk of being subjected to violence, which has made many lose confidence in the United Nations and its organizations that made March 8th International Women's Day, as they did not move a finger towards everything that is being committed against the sons and women of Yemen.
The statement held the aggression coalition led by America and Saudi Arabia fully responsible for all the crimes and violations committed by the aggression against civilians in Yemen for ten years, calling on the international community and international organizations to bear legal and humanitarian responsibility towards the heinous violations and massacres to which the Yemeni people are exposed, urging the free people of the world to take effective and positive action to stop the aggression and protect women and children.
He called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to bear their legal and humanitarian responsibility towards the heinous crimes committed by the aggression coalition against the sons and women of Yemen, and to pressure to stop the aggression and lift the siege.
