The Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday said its forces liberated the town of Lebedivka in the border Kursk province, in addition to liberating the town of Novinkoy in the Sumy province in northern Ukraine.
Sputnik Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "During the offensive operations, units of the Northern Forces Group liberated the village of Lebedivka in Kursk province, and the town of Novinkoy in Sumy province."
The statement added: "Formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of Agronom, Bogdanovka, Goncharovka, Goyevo, Zaulishchenka, Kazachya Lukhniya, Pervy Knyaga, Vtoroy Knyaga, Kositsa, Lukhniya, Malaya Lukhniya, Makhnivka, Rubanshchina, Sudzha, Cherkasy Konobelka, Cherkasy Porechnoye and Yuzhny, where two counterattacks were repelled."
During the day, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 350 servicemen, tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored personnel carriers, 19 armored combat vehicles, 29 vehicles, six field guns, a mortar, an electronic warfare station, an Israeli-made "Rada" radar station, an engineering repair vehicle, as well as 11 drone control centers and an ammunition depot.
