New Delhi - Saba:

An Indian man has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the most hairy face among males, with more than 201 hairs per centimeter of his face.

According to the Indian Express, “Lalit Patidar’s condition, known as ‘hypertrichosis’ or ‘werewolf syndrome’, is so rare that only about 50 cases of it have been recorded since the Middle Ages.”

With over 95% of his face covered in hair, Lalit has always stood out from the crowd, but it wasn’t easy for him.

His appearance used to intimidate his classmates since childhood, however, when they got to know him, they realised that he was just like them in every way except his appearance.

“They were scared of me, but when they started talking to me, they realised that I was just like them, it was just my appearance that was different,” Lalit said.

Rather than letting negativity define him, Lalit has chosen to embrace his uniqueness, running a YouTube channel where he shares glimpses of his daily life, proving that he is much more than just a rare case.

His facial hair was officially measured by a trichologist when he was invited to Italy to appear on Le Show de Record, cementing his place in the record books.

“I am speechless, I don’t know what to say because I am so happy to have this global recognition that I am special,” he said after receiving the title.

Although he is surrounded by supportive family and friends, not everyone has been kind to him, and some have suggested he shave his facial hair, but Lalit has remained firm on his opinion, explaining: “I like how I am, and I don’t want to change my appearance.”
