China's consumer price index (CPI), a key gauge of inflation, fell 0.7 percent year on year in February.
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, prices in urban and rural areas both fell 0.7 percent year on year.
Specifically, food prices fell 3.3 percent year on year, non-food prices fell 0.1 percent year on year, consumer goods prices fell 0.9 percent year on year, and service prices fell 0.4 percent year on year last month, Xinhua News Agency reported.
