Plan to build 11,000 settlement units near Salfit
[09/ March/2025]
Salfit-Saba:
The Ariel settlement council, built on Palestinian citizens' lands in Salfit Governorate, announced a new settlement plan that includes building 11,000 new settlement units, as part of intensive efforts to expand the settlement at the expense of Palestinian lands.

For his part, Salfit Governor Mustafa Taqatqa stressed, according to what was reported by the Palestinian Ma'an Agency, that this plan comes within the context of a systematic policy aimed at controlling more Palestinian lands and imposing a settlement fait accompli that changes the demographic composition of the region, stressing that these practices constitute a war crime under international law.

Taqatqa pointed out that the right-wing Zionist enemy government continues to accelerate the pace of land confiscation and implement plans aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from their lands, in clear violation of international laws and conventions.

For his part, anti-settlement activist Nazmi Salman confirmed that the plan extends over an area of more than 2,000 dunams, noting that it includes, in addition to residential units, educational and commercial facilities, public gardens, parks and green spaces, in addition to a huge urban park, large work and commercial areas, and sports fields, in an attempt to impose a new demographic reality that serves the settlement project.
