Al-Luhayyah Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society, in collaboration with the Agricultural Cooperative Union, has inaugurated the wheat harvest season in al-Jawfiyah area of al-Luhayyah district, Hodeida province.
Majed Amish, Director of al-Luhayyah district, confirmed the success of the initial wheat cultivation experiment, reporting an 85 percent success rate. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the farmers' ambition and marks a significant step towards enhancing food security and reducing reliance on wheat imports.
Amish praised al-Luhayyah Association's efforts in encouraging wheat cultivation and raising awareness about the strategic importance of this crop.
Ali Zaqil, Chairman of al-Luhayyah Association, stated that the experiment serves as a starting point for expanding wheat cultivation and land reclamation in the district, contributing to sustainable development in the region.
The launch event was attended by Ali Khamj, coordinator of the Binian Development Foundation, and members of the Al-Luhayyah Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society's administrative body.
