A Palestinian fisherman was killed Friday evening after being targeted by Israeli shells off the coast of Gaza City.
Zakaria Bakr, coordinator of the Fishermen's Committees Union, said in a press statement that fisherman Mohammed Riyad Siam (22 years old) was killed just meters from the sea west of the Sudanese area, as a result of an Israeli warship firing a shell at his boat.
On Friday, Israeli forces escalated their targeting of civilians across the Gaza Strip. Four Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli shelling of a group of citizens near the Subha al-Harazin School in al-Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
