Hazem Qassem, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that the movement's agreement to release captured Israeli soldier Idan Alexander, who holds American citizenship, is part of its positive and responsible engagement with the mediators' efforts.
In statements made on Friday, Qassem called on the mediators, following this positive proposal from Hamas, to hold the Zionist enemy accountable for its demands and launch the second phase of negotiations.
He said, "The mediators must pressure the occupation to complete the ceasefire agreement," noting that the movement has informed them of the Zionist enemy's violations of the agreement.
