The UN Security Council will hold five separate sessions next week on the situation in the Middle East, including Israeli settlements, Gaza, the Golan Heights, Lebanon, and Sudan.
The Council presidency said in a statement on Saturday that the Council will hold closed consultations on Gaza next Tuesday at the request of some of its members. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher will brief the Council.
