Gaza - Saba:
The Israeli occupation army continues to close the Kerem Shalom crossing, southeast of the Gaza Strip, for the 16th consecutive day, preventing the entry of aid, goods, and fuel, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
The continued closure of the crossing exacerbates the suffering of citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, amid a shortage of goods and food in the markets, coupled with rising prices for what remains.
Since March 2, no aid has entered the Strip, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
UNRWA explained in press statements that the Gaza Strip has not received any humanitarian or commercial supplies since March 2, endangering the lives of residents, especially since many of them depend entirely on international aid for their survival.
For his part, the Humanitarian Coordinator, Muhannad Hadi, stressed the need to resume the entry of aid immediately, warning that any further delay would undermine the remaining relief efforts in Gaza.
The lives of thousands of sick and wounded are at risk due to the lack of treatment, the collapse of the health system, and the prevention of the entry of medicines and medical supplies.
The closure of the crossings has led to food insecurity and the loss of 80% of citizens' food sources, whether due to the suspension of charitable donations or the cessation of aid distribution from relief agencies due to the unavailability of food and food supplies, and the absence of these goods in the markets.
