Gold prices continued their rise on Tuesday, hitting a new record high above $3,000 per ounce for the second time in a week, as investors continued to flock to safe havens amid mounting economic concerns.
Spot gold rose 0.31% to $3,010.76 per ounce, after hitting a record high of $3,012.05 earlier in the session.
Prices surpassed $3,000 for the first time last Friday. U.S. gold futures also rose 0.4% to $3,018.00 per ounce.
