A senior Yemeni Foreign Ministry official visited a child rehabilitation shelter and vocational training center on Tuesday, highlighting the government's commitment to addressing the issue of child begging.
Undersecretary Ismail al-Mutawakel toured "Karama" shelter, which provides shelter, education, and rehabilitation to children affected by begging, and praised the National Program to Address the Phenomenon of Begging for its work in reintegrating these children into society.
He also visited the Yemeni-Chinese Institute of Technical and Applied Sciences, where 40 individuals are receiving training in vital trades like auto electrical and solar energy maintenance, equipping them with skills for sustainable employment.
The visits underscore the government's focus on providing vulnerable children with opportunities for a better future.
