The Public Prosecution in Taiz province has approved the release of 93 prisoners who have served three-quarters of their sentences, half of their sentences, and with bail in cases under investigation.
Judge Abdullah Al-Sanea, head of the Taiz Appeals Prosecution, told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the release procedures were carried out during the past 12 days during the field visit of the head of the prosecution and the committee assigned by the Interior and the Attorney General's Office Ministry , which included Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Muwaidi and Judge Rajeh Zayed, to inspect the conditions of prisoners in pretrial detention.
He pointed out that 216 prisoners were released during the month of Sha'ban during the inspection of the central and reserve correctional facilities and places of detention in the city and districts, during the visit of the committee formed by the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Justice, as mandated by the Supreme Judicial Council, to grant those who deserve conditional release and bail on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
Judge Zayed and Brigadier General Al-Muwaidi explained that the field visit to prisons in Taiz comes within the framework of the directives of the Revolution Leader to feel the conditions of prisoners and address the needs of correctional facilities.
