Young Egyptian player Youssef Ahmed Mustafa died after a 41-day struggle in a coma, the result of a serious injury he sustained during his participation in the Republic Karate Championship.
The player's father confirmed his son's death, explaining that Youssef suffered a severe blow to the chest, near the heart, during the match, which led to cardiac arrest.
The player underwent seven resuscitation surgeries, but he fell into a coma due to brain damage resulting from the accident.
Despite extensive medical efforts, Youssef was unable to regain consciousness and passed away after a prolonged struggle.
