Launching economic empowerment project to support people with disabilities with white loans in Al-Hodeida

Hodeida - Saba:
The economic empowerment project to support people with disabilities, implemented by the Central Economic Empowerment Unit in cooperation with Al-Jarahi and Al-Tahita associations, was inaugurated in Zabid district in Al-Hodeida province.

The project, which is implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, under the supervision of the Agricultural and Fishery Production Promotion Fund, with funding from the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, and in partnership with the Bunyan Foundation, the Agricultural Cooperative Union and the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the province, aims to promote economic empowerment for people with disabilities by providing white loans and distributing 240 heads of cattle to 120 beneficiaries in the districts of Tahita and Jarahi, with an amount of 145 million riyals.

The Director of the Economic Empowerment Unit, Dr. Yahya Qatina, stressed that the project comes within the framework of efforts to support the most needy groups and achieve economic , social development, and within sustainable development programs that contribute to improving the lives of marginalized groups, pointing out the importance of integration between various parties to make economic initiatives supportive of the targeted groups successful.

Mohammed Al-Ahdal, head of the province's Economic Empowerment Management Unit, explained that the project represents a practical model for supporting people with disabilities by empowering them economically and enhancing their productive role in the agricultural and rural sector, which contributes to achieving self-sufficiency and improving their standard of living.

In turn, the director of the Livestock Protection Unit, Mustafa Al-Ghuli, pointed to the importance of the project in supporting the agricultural sector in the province, pointing to its role in enhancing the contribution of people with disabilities in agricultural production, which contributes to achieving food security and local development.
