The Hamas-affiliated Prisoners' Media Office said on Wednesday that "the occupation forced female prisoners to be strip-searched in Damon prison, and launched a barbaric crackdown on female prisoners in Damon a week ago."
The office added in a statement, "The Israeli enemy seized the food boxes that the prisoners had collected for use during the month of Ramadan."
"The prisoners' daily diet is limited to legumes such as chickpeas, lentils, rice and pea soup only, and they are not allowed to store enough food for the suhoor meal, forcing them to drink only water after long hours of fasting."
"These crimes against female prisoners are totally unacceptable and a flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws," the prisoners' media office said.
The office stressed "the need to urgently inspect the conditions of the female prisoners, provide them with protection, and ensure that their basic needs are met."
The office held the occupation fully responsible for the lives and dignity of the female prisoners, demanding that it be held accountable for its repeated crimes against Palestinian women in its prisons.
