Lebanese reject US efforts to drag Beirut into normalization with Israeli enemy

Beirut - Saba:
While the US is accelerating its efforts to drag it into the normalization trap, Lebanon is sending messages of steadfastness, affirming its rejection of any normalization plans with the Zionist enemy and any Zionist encroachment on Lebanese territory.

Amid the dramatic political changes taking place in Lebanon, the outlines of a long-term American plan are beginning to emerge.

This plan aims to completely restructure Lebanon, placing it under American control and tutelage, with the ultimate goal of gradually incorporating it into normalization agreements with the occupying entity.

In other words, the establishment of a new political system that is subservient to both American and Israeli wills.

The outlines of this plan were clearly evident in the position announced by US Presidential Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who indicated his preference for Syria and Lebanon to join peace agreements with the Israeli occupation at a later date.

This position was seen by some as an expression of the new US administration's position, which seeks to expand the normalization agreements initiated by US President Donald Trump during his first term with several Arab countries.

On the other hand, despite these negative changes, the Lebanese resistance, led by Hezbollah, has affirmed its refusal to make any concessions in this regard, and that it will not accept that Lebanon be led to surrender, submission, and normalization under any pretext or excuse, especially since it possesses the will, faith, and determination to resist and confront.

In light of the American-Israeli push to drag Lebanon into the normalization trap, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed that "Lebanon will not accept the continuation of the occupation and there is no room in it for normalization or surrender ."

Qassem stressed that "resistance is a firm choice that moves wisely in accordance with the requirements of confronting the Israeli occupation."

The appearance of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem and his statements confirmed that the resistance is monitoring American efforts and will continue to draw red lines against any change in the equation that could drag Lebanon into the normalization trap. All that remains is that it is remaining patient, holding everyone accountable, and maintaining its principles and strength until the appropriate time.

In light of the Lebanese resistance's affirmation of its rejection of any possible scenario for normalizing relations with the Israeli entity, MP Ali Fayyad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, came out to confirm that "Lebanon has not been, and will not be, now or in the future, susceptible to normalization with the Zionists."

He emphasized that "Israel" is the diametrically opposed enemy of Lebanon in its existence, identity, and interests and will remain so. He also emphasized that the resistance is a broad and broad popular movement that represents the numerical majority of the Lebanese people, according to the results of the 2022 elections, and no one can ignore this fact.

The Lebanese parliamentarian continued, "There is American-Zionist collusion seeking to establish a political path that constitutes an extension of the war waged against Lebanon and the resistance."

Fayyad added, "There are indications that the Americans are linking the reconstruction process to political conditions. These are indications of the effort to launch three diplomatic committees, not military ones, to discuss pending issues with the Israeli enemy.

All of this is now culminating in both Israeli and American talk about aspirations to bring Lebanon into the path of normalization with the Israeli enemy and to throw it into what is called the Abraham Accords system ."

Commenting on the matter, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed that normalization with the Israeli occupation in Lebanon is "unacceptable" to all citizens.

In a meeting with reporters on Wednesday, Salam said , "No one in Lebanon wants normalization with Israel, and it is rejected by all Lebanese."

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri also confirmed that Israel is trying to lure Lebanon into political negotiations with the aim of normalization, a move the Lebanese government rejects .

Berri said, "Israel intends to lure us into political negotiations to normalize relations with it, but we are not in that position."

In parallel with the widespread pressure on Lebanon, Foreign Minister Youssef Rajai announced that "there was no official Lebanese response to US envoy Morgan Ortagus' request for political negotiations with Israel."

He said, "Lebanon is focusing on the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the implementation of the 1949 armistice agreement between Lebanon, Israel, and the United Nations, while normalization is off the table and direct political negotiations with Israel are completely rejected."

From the above, we conclude that the Israeli enemy's efforts to trap Arab countries in the normalization trap have not and will not cease. To this end, the paths to this goal are being paved through various means.

Lebanon, fully aware of what is being sought, and, based on the popular majority that supports the resistance and rejects normalization, clearly announces its decision, refusing to fall into the trap of normalization with the historic enemy.
