
New York - Saba: Algeria has requested an emergency meeting of the Security Council on the situation in Palestine, the session is expected to be held this afternoon, Thursday, according to a statement issued by the official Algerian Press Agency on Wednesday.
Algeria attributed the request to "the dangerous (Israeli) escalation in the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza, which has been under a blockade for more than a month, accompanied by indiscriminate killings, including of aid workers."
