Beirut - Saba:
Palestinian and Lebanese crowds mourned today, Friday, in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, the bodies of Qassam commander Hassan Farhat "Abu Yasser" and his two sons, Hamza and Janan. The martyrs were killed early this morning in a Zionist assassination operation that targeted his apartment in the city.

Quds Press reported that the funeral procession set out from the Imam Ali Mosque in the Villas area toward the Sirop Cemetery, with widespread participation from representatives of Palestinian factions and Lebanese forces, national, political, and religious figures, and crowds of residents of the Palestinian camps, who raised Palestinian and resistance flags and chanted slogans glorifying the martyrs and affirming the continuation of their path.

On the sidelines of the funeral, Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said in a statement: "The blood of the martyrs will illuminate the path of jihad and resistance until the full, legitimate rights of our Palestinian people are achieved."

"This blood will be an extension of our support for our Palestinian people, who are being subjected to a true war of genocide, while the international community remains silent and unmoved," Taha added.

He emphasized that "the cowardly assassination operation demonstrates the Zionist policy of murder and treachery practiced by the Zionist enemy forces against our Palestinian people." He emphasized that "this crime is a blatant violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and stability, and we affirm our full solidarity with our brothers in Lebanon in light of the ongoing Zionist aggression against Lebanese territory."

Taha called on the Palestinian people, wherever they are, to "demonstrate greater unity, cohesion, and solidarity in order to confront and thwart the Zionist enemy's schemes and projects aimed at erasing their cause and rights."

The Qassam Battalions, the military wing of Hamas, announced in a press release the martyrdom of Commander Farhat, his daughter Janan, and his son Hamza, at dawn on Friday, Shawwal 6, 1446 AH (April 4, 2025 AD), following an assassination attempt targeting them inside their apartment in Sidon.
