The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasts scattered rain of varying intensity in several governorates, strong winds leading to rough seas, and hot weather in the Tihama Plain and desert areas over the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that scattered rain of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected in parts of the governorates of Sa'dah, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz.
Strong winds are likely to blow along the southern west coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the western Gulf of Aden, causing rough seas and high waves.
The center indicated that the weather may be hot in the Tihama Plain and desert areas, with maximum temperatures ranging between 34 and 39 degrees Celsius.
He explained that the amount of rainfall measured at some monitoring stations over the past 24 hours reached 20.8 mm in Sana'a and 4 mm in Amran.
Light to moderate rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, also fell on parts of the western highlands and Socotra Island, but was outside the stations' range.
The center warned citizens to avoid flood paths, and warned fishermen and beachgoers south of the west coast, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the western Gulf of Aden to avoid rough seas and high waves.
