[10/ April/2025]

The University of Yemenia in Sana'a organized a productive workshop to update its strategic directions and prepare indicators for its 2025–2030 plan.

During the seminar, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, expressed his appreciation for the university's initiative, emphasizing the importance of developing a comprehensive vision for education that takes into account the needs of society and the labor market and serves as a starting point for integrated national planning.

For his part, the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, considered strategic planning an urgent necessity for developing university education and obtaining local and international academic accreditation. He pointed to the need for a reference guide to guide the preparation of these plans.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yahya Al-Mutawakel, explained that the university began working on its strategic plan three years ago, beginning with an analysis of its internal and external environment. It is now in the process of completing the plan by updating directions, identifying performance indicators, and developing an implementation mechanism to ensure the achievement of its objectives.

The workshop featured a presentation by strategic planning expert Dr. Noman Fayrouz, who addressed the reality of Yemeni universities, indicating that a large percentage of them lack clear strategic plans. The workshop concluded with discussion sessions that addressed an analysis of the current situation, updating the vision, mission, values, and objectives, and identifying key performance indicators for the strategic plan.
