Hamas: Systematic abuse of prisoners, released prisoners blatant violation of most basic principles of HR
[11/ April/2025]
Gaza – Saba:

Hamas has affirmed that the systematic abuse of prisoners in Israeli prisons, including those released, which was evident in the case of released prisoner Ahmed Manasra, and the accompanying criminal measures against him and his family, are sadistic acts that can only be perpetrated by a shaky and illegitimate occupying authority.

Hamas said in a press statement on Friday that the enemy placed released prisoner Ahmed Manasra under house arrest, prevented him from speaking to the media, and prevented his family from receiving him, threatening them with any event they might organize upon his release which also constitute a blatant violation of the most basic principles of human rights.

It added that Manasra, who entered the enemy's prisons as a child and emerged as a young man, is a living witness to the ongoing crimes committed by the criminal enemy against Palestinian prisoners and to the blatant violations to which our children are subjected.

Hamas noted that during his years of detention, Manasra suffered the harshest forms of physical and psychological torture, in addition to medical neglect, under the direct supervision of the occupation government and extremist Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

It called on international and UN human rights institutions, foremost among them the International Committee of the Red Cross, to assume their responsibilities in documenting these brutal violations against our prisoners, to intervene urgently to protect them, and to work to prosecute and try the occupation leaders for their unprecedented crimes against humanity.
