Occupied Al-Quds – SABA:
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has stated that the Netherlands’ export of military dogs to "Israel" places the country in a position of complicity in international crimes, demanding an immediate halt to such exports and the launching of an urgent investigation.
In a statement, the Monitor explained that the Netherlands continues to export military dogs to the Israeli occupation army and other security agencies, despite their use as tools for torture and the systematic terrorization of Palestinians.
It pointed out that the Netherlands’ ongoing exports of dogs to "Israel", despite being fully aware of their use in crimes against Palestinians, expose it to international criminal liability.
The Monitor’s field team documented numerous incidents where Israeli forces used dogs to attack Palestinian civilians, including children, the elderly, and the ill.
It affirmed that Israeli forces systematically deploy large military dogs during their assaults in the Gaza Strip, especially when storming homes, hospitals, and shelters.
The organization called on the Dutch Parliament to open a thorough investigation into the export of dogs and related equipment to "Israel", urging the Dutch government and companies involved in these exports to establish a special fund to compensate Palestinian victims harmed by the use of these dogs.
