Geneva – SABA:
On Friday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) called for the immediate resumption of urgent humanitarian aid entry into the Gaza Strip, reaffirming its commitment to responding to humanitarian needs.
In a press statement issued today, the ICRC stated that it currently has no information regarding any imminent reopening of the Gaza border crossings for humanitarian support.
The statement clarified that “the ICRC has not been requested to coordinate the entry of any humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.”
Israeli occupation forces have continued to keep Gaza’s border crossings closed since March 2, blocking the entry of humanitarian and relief supplies into the besieged territory.
