Hamas: We Have Not Received New Ceasefire Offers
[11/ April/2025]
Gaza - Saba:

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, denied receiving any new offers related to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

A leading source in the movement told Al Jazeera on Friday that Hamas had agreed to the latest proposal it received from mediators before Eid al-Fitr and had clearly announced its position at the time, indicating that the movement remains committed to this position.

He added that Hamas is open to any new proposals that would lead to a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, within the framework of an agreement that guarantees an end to the aggression and the fulfillment of the demands of the Palestinian people.

The source stressed that the movement welcomes any serious regional or international efforts that serve the interests of a comprehensive calm and alleviate the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip.

At the end of last March, Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, confirmed the movement's approval of a proposal it received from Egypt and Qatar, the mediators of the ceasefire agreement that the Zionist enemy reversed in its second phase. He noted that Hamas and the mediators had reached advanced stages of discussions regarding the individuals to lead the Community Support Committee in Gaza.

Al-Hayya stated that "the occupation is stalling and evading the signed agreements to continue the war. We fully adhered to the terms of the ceasefire agreement, but the occupation has reneged on it."
