Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters after defeating Frenchman Arthur Fils in a match that ended two sets to one.
The world No. 3 managed to clinch the victory with scores of (4–6, 7–5, 6–4) in a match that lasted two hours and 23 minutes.
The Spanish player is now just two wins away from claiming his sixth Masters 1000 title.
Alcaraz will next face fellow Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who secured his spot in the semifinals after defeating Australian Alexei Popyrin in straight sets.
Davidovich sealed the win with scores of (6–3, 6–2) in one hour and nine minutes.
