Hamas: Barring Christians from Celebrating
[14/ April/2025]

Gaza – Saba:

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" stated that the Zionist enemy’s authorities preventing Palestinian Christians from accessing occupied Al-Quds to celebrate Palm Sunday is part of a broader plan to Judaize the city.

In a statement, the movement said, "The restrictions imposed by the enemy authorities on Palestinian Christians are part of the fascist and racist occupation policy targeting our Palestinian people in all their components, and a criminal, failed attempt to isolate them from their land and holy sites, and to Judaize them."

Hamas condemned what it described as "criminal measures against Palestinian Christians and the Palestinian people as a whole."

The movement called on "churches worldwide to condemn the enemy and its continuous violations of freedom of worship and access to holy sites. We also urge the international community to take serious steps to stop its brutal violations and its war aimed at exterminating our people and erasing their cause."

On Sunday, the enemy barred Palestinian Christians from the West Bank from reaching occupied Jerusalem to participate in Palm Sunday celebrations.

The enemy’s forces imposed strict military measures at checkpoints surrounding Jerusalem and around the Old City.

The occupation authorities require Palestinians—both Muslims and Christians—to obtain special permits to cross military checkpoints into the holy city and access places of worship, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
