Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Documents Deaths of 11 Syrians on Saturday

Damascus – Saba:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 11 Syrians were killed or martyred on Saturday in various circumstances and across different regions, including members of the Alawite community who were targeted by armed extremist groups.

Details of the incidents include:
– The body of an Alawite man was found tied to a chair with a bag in his mouth and his throat slit with a sharp object inside his home in the city of Qardaha, rural Latakia.

– A man and his wife, both from the Alawite community, were martyred after armed extremists stormed their home in the village of Al-Shaniyah in western rural Homs.

– Another civilian was martyred after being struck by shrapnel from a landmine explosion—left over from previous conflicts—while riding in a transport vehicle in the Al-Kammunat area of the Syrian desert, near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

– A young man from the Al-Khuzami family in the village of Mahurta, rural Hama, was shot dead by extremist militants near the Syrian-Lebanese border while attempting to enter Lebanon with his brother.
– A young man from Al-Muzayrib in western rural Daraa was killed by a gunshot to the chest under unclear circumstances.

– A former opposition faction leader was killed in a shooting incident by members of the Fifth Corps in the city of Busra al-Sham, eastern rural Daraa.
– The bodies of two young men were found murdered by unknown assailants in mysterious circumstances in Jisr al-Shughur, rural Idlib, days after going missing en route to Syria’s coastal region.

– Additionally, two members of extremist groups were killed in rural Aleppo.
