A meeting was held in Taiz province on Monday for directors of agriculture branches and heads of agricultural associations to discuss the mechanisms of the agricultural expansion project for grain production.
At the meeting, which included 44 participants, the provincial undersecretary for development affairs, Abdulwase Al-Shamsi, emphasized the importance of activating the serious work of agriculture branches and agricultural associations as a team.
He pointed out the importance of the meeting within the framework of the state's efforts to promote the agricultural sector in the province and contribute to reducing the import bill and reaching self-sufficiency.
During the meeting, which was attended by the general mobilization official in the province, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, the agricultural sector official in the province, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jindi, explained that the meeting aims to record data related to agricultural areas, irrigation sources, farmers wishing to engage in contract farming, livestock inventory, knowledge of various types of agricultural crops, the volume of agricultural , irrigated production, everything that requires the expansion of contract farming and the involvement of the associations that have been established.
