The head of the Customs Authority, Engineer Adel Merghem, along with the head of the Technical, Economic and Developmental Sectoral Integration Committee, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service Abdullah Haidar and members of the committee, inspected the progress of work at Sana'a Airport Customs for cargo and passengers.
During the visit, the head of the authority gave a detailed explanation to the head and members of the committee about the nature of the tasks carried out by the authority in the air, land and sea ports, pointing out that customs is not a collection agency, but rather plays multiple technical and security roles in protecting citizens, combating smuggling, supporting the national industry and contributing to supporting the economy.
The Director General of Sana'a Airport Cargo Customs, Mohammed al-Mahfadi, gave a detailed explanation to the Integration Committee about the customs procedures from the time the cargo disembarks from the plane to clearance, and the standard time required for release.
Sayyid Haider praised the vital role played by the Customs Authority, stressing that the importance of this sector is evident through its continuous support to the state's public treasury, in addition to its efforts in tackling smuggling operations , seizing violations, in the interest of the country and the citizen, praising the positive cooperation shown by the leadership of the authority and its employees.
