The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced on Thursday that approximately 500,000 Palestinians have been displaced from their homes in the Gaza Strip since March 18, due to the Israeli enemy's resumption of genocide and its breach of the ceasefire agreement.
A statement issued by OCHA indicated that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced repeatedly before the temporary ceasefire on January 19. "The ongoing hostilities across the Gaza Strip continue to have devastating consequences for civilians, including death, displacement, and the destruction of vital infrastructure."
Regarding humanitarian access, the statement noted that the Zionist entity "continues to refuse approval for coordinated missions, and only two of six planned and coordinated humanitarian movements" with the Zionist entity's authorities were facilitated today.
The statement explained that the Zionist entity rejected four other missions, including one to bring fuel from Rafah, without explaining the reasons for the rejection of the remaining missions, or the nature of the missions and the humanitarian aid they carried.
The Office stated that its teams visited displacement sites in Khan Younis last week, where "the majority of people are living in overcrowded shelters, with scarce shelter, food, water, and medicine."
He pointed out that "relief workers reported that tents were no longer available for distribution across the Gaza Strip. In the town of Bani Suhaila in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, for example, recently displaced families received only a few blankets and cloth."
The United Nations reported that "acute malnutrition has worsened in the Gaza Strip, and the number of children receiving supplementary feeding decreased by more than two-thirds in March."
Restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation on humanitarian access hinder the ability to supply hospitals with medical supplies, endangering the health of more patients, according to the United Nations.
