The acting governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, inaugurated on Thursday the distribution of 30 maize cultivators and locally manufactured feed mills to cooperative societies, at a cost of 13 million riyals funded by the local authority in the province through the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit.
During the inauguration, in the presence of the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Saleh Hajib, and the General Mobilization Officer in the province, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, Al-Masawi stressed the importance of manufacturing agricultural machinery , equipment to reduce the import bill for equipment , contribute to providing the needs , requirements of farmers at the lowest cost and high quality.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Taiz province for Development Affairs, Abdulwase Al-Shamsi, pointed out that the launch of the first phase of manufacturing agricultural machinery and equipment for agricultural cooperative societies in the province comes in response to the directives of the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council in promoting local production of agricultural machinery and equipment.
He pointed out that this equipment will improve performance and provide services to cooperative societies and farmers.
The agricultural sector official, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi, and the head of the Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit, Mohammed Heba, emphasized the interest in local production inputs, pointing out that the harvesters manufactured by Bunyan Development Foundation have proven their efficiency in the field.
