ICRC: Israel's bombing of our headquarters in Gaza reduces humanitarian space
[17/ April/2025]
New York - Saba:
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Thursday that the Zionist enemy's bombing of its headquarters "affects its ability to provide essential protection and assistance to hundreds of thousands of people who need help to survive, contributing to the continued shrinking of the humanitarian space."

In a statement, the committee condemned in the strongest terms any action that impedes its ability to carry out its work and endangers the lives of humanitarian workers.

It expressed outrage that one of its headquarters in Gaza was hit by an explosive object on Wednesday, which led to damage.

"This is the second such incident in the last three weeks; another headquarters in the area was hit by a tank shell on March 24," it said.

"These incidents highlight the dangers to which civilians, medical staff and humanitarian workers are exposed in Gaza Strip," it said.

The enemy forces have besieged Gaza for the 18th year, and about 1.5 million of its population of about 2.4 million Palestinians have become homeless after the genocidal war destroyed their houses, and Gaza Strip has entered the stage of famine due to the closure of crossings to humanitarian aid.

Since October 7, 2023, enemy forces, with absolute American support, have been committing genocide in the besieged Palestinian Gaza Strip, leaving more than 167,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.
