The military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, Abu Obeida, announced on Saturday that the resistance had recovered the body of a martyr who was tasked with securing the Israeli-American prisoner, soldier Idan Alexander.
He stated, "The fate of the prisoner and the rest of the capturing fighters remains unknown."
In posts on his Telegram channel, Abu Obeida affirmed, "We are trying to protect all prisoners and preserve their lives despite the brutality of the aggression, but their lives are in danger due to the criminal bombing operations carried out by the enemy army."
Abu Obeida explained that the Zionist enemy is lying in its claims of inhumane treatment of prisoners and fabricating false testimonies from former prisoners to incite against the resistance and cover up the scandal of killing a number of its captives, prolonging the suffering of the remaining ones.
On April 15, Abu Obeida announced the loss of contact with the group holding the Israeli-American soldier Idan Alexander after a direct airstrike targeted their location.
