A new project to install a solar-powered pumping system for al-Najd al-Ahmar Water Project was launched on Sunday in al-Radmah district in Ibb province.
The 27.364 million Y.R project, funded by the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, aims to provide drinking water to over 6,500 residents in the area who face water shortages.
Officials emphasized the importance of such projects in alleviating the suffering of communities relying on distant water sources and praised the use of solar power to reduce drinking water costs.
Representatives from the funding unit highlighted their focus on projects serving the most deprived areas, while local district director Abdullah al-Fareh lauded the unit's support across various sectors.
