Acting Governor of Taiz Ahmed al-Masawi and head of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities Engineer Hadi Qarya on Monday conducted a review of the workflow at the Taiz branch of the Water Resources Authority.
During a meeting attended by both officials, along with Yahya Jumaan, Undersecretary of Sana'a Province for Investment, and Jamal Jamil, Director of the Authority's Taiz branch, discussions centered on the challenges facing the branch, water resource management issues, and strategies for their preservation and protection against pollution.
Jamil provided a summary of the branch's efforts in managing water resources and the measures implemented to control unauthorized well drilling.
Al-Masawi and Qarya commended the branch's successes in curbing random well drilling, recognizing its contribution to reducing excessive depletion of water reserves.
The officials also reviewed the progress of work across the Authority's various departments and divisions, listening to staff explanations regarding workflow, performance levels, challenges, and potential solutions.
Both the Acting Governor and the Chairman of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority praised the dedication of the Authority's branch staff in fulfilling their assigned duties. They acknowledged the branch's significant role in intensifying efforts to control illegal drilling, activating oversight functions, and improving the efficiency of water management in the province.
Al-Masawi and Qarya stated that the visit reflects the keen interest and commitment of the province and Authority leaderships to enhance coordination between different agencies and implement national policies aimed at protecting and sustaining water resources. They emphasized the importance of equipping the Authority's branch with necessary modern laboratory equipment to enhance work performance and safeguard water resources.
