The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that they lured an Israeli engineering force into a booby-trapped tunnel shaft, killing and wounding its members.
The Brigades said in a statement, "After returning from the battle lines, our fighters confirmed that they lured a Zionist engineering force into a previously booby-trapped tunnel shaft. Immediately upon the force's arrival at the site, the tunnel shaft was detonated, trapping enemy soldiers."
